Summer Recap

We have said it before, but one of our most favorite parts about  being photographers is meeting such awesome people. This summer we were privileged to meet some of the most fun, sweet, and just simply wonderful people- including a few precious newborns. Here our some of our favorite photos to recap the summer months.

“Sugar and spice and everything NICE….”

After having to reschedule due to rain, this photo shoot almost did not take place. An hour before Brandi’s session, the clouds rolled in and the rain came- once again. After studying the weather radar maps (and saying a prayer), we decided to just go ahead and go for it. We are so glad we did!! The clouds rolled out and the lighting, along with the spring blossoms were beautiful!!! It was such an honor meeting Brandi. She is one of the nicest people we’ve met. She definitely was sporting the pregnancy glow!! We loved the results from this photo shoot and can’t wait to meet her precious baby girl!

SuSal Photography

Our dearest friend and her family were able to visit us during the holidays. It was our privilege to be able to photograph them while they were in Delaware. Susan is also a photographer for SuSal Photography in Ohio…so it was a special treat for us to allow her (and her family) to be the subject and take a break from being the one behind the lens. She is very talented- you can check out work on her Facebook page: SuSal Photography.

All about the FUN

It’s always refreshing when you are able to be around people who have great personalities. This group screams FUN!! Their quick wit and fun-spirit made our job that much easier to capture all their personalities through the lens of our cameras! Despite the bitter cold weather, we definitely enjoyed our afternoon with them all….we love the {S} Family!!

Best Friends

Once again it was a privilege to photograph a family that has been our best friends for many years now!! Tyler and Carter are two of the sweetest and fun boys to be around, just like their parents!! It was a great afternoon and we were so pleased with the results of the photo shoot. They are a beautiful family-inside and out. We are so honored to call them “FRIENDS!!”

*We included one shot from 2010 Photo Shoot….the beginning of Plum Speckled Photography.*

The {P} Family

When we received a phone call to schedule a photo session for this wonderful family, we asked one special request–for Donny to bring his guitar! This family has been great friends, but they have also been used to minister to us (and so many others) through worship!! Donny is an amazing musician and singer and his wife has also been blessed with the gift of singing! Although we could not convince Donny to give us a mini-concert, we had a great session with this wonderful family who has blessed our lives over the years!

Christmas Time!!

With Christmas right around the corner we have been blessed with so many photo shoots!! It’s been wonderful seeing some old friends and even making some new ones. This family we have known since our school days! They are such a sweet family and it was fun to spend the evening with them! (For this photo shoot we were indoors- a new adventure for us, but it was nice change to be indoors and out of the cold.)

The {H} Family

It was our privilege to spend some time with this sweet mother and her three children. It was such beautiful weather and a great day to spend outdoors!! Here are a few of our favorite shots from their session!!

Family

Fall is one of my most favorite seasons. It never ceases to amaze me at the beauty of God’s creation through the changes we see during fall. For this photo shoot we went to one of our new favorite location (thanks to a photographer friend!). The trees, the colorful fallen leaves, and even tall grass made for some exceptional backgrounds. It was a great day with a great family!!

Tree Hugger

Well, during this fun, busy season of photography, I decided we were well overdue for our family pictures. It had been well over 2 years since our last family session. As always, my sister was more than gracious to try and capture the “perfect” family photo for me. First, I must inform you that I have been blessed with 3 precious boys….3 boys who, by no means are ever calm. During our session, as the sun was quickly setting, we were all perfectly positioned in a prime location to capture that “perfect” shot, when my youngest, decided he wanted no part and had a sudden urge to become best friends with the tree 5 feet away from us!

This picture quickly became one of my favorites. Why we never were able to capture that “perfect” shot, Sally was able to capture many precious shots that have already become treasured photos that I will always cherish.
